SONG #1
***While I was working on the first song, the best week of every year, Sharkweek, was playing in the background. Lyrics for a lot of past months have been pretty unaffecting in their meaning to me. I've gradually learned what they learn to me personally. That sounds totally unsensible, coming from the same person who writes the lyrics. But sometimes the words just make sense even if you don't know why they're getting put down on paper and blending into musical tones. So during this Shark Week program there was an interview with a mother who was dealing with her son's coma (shark induced, of course). After a while she mentions standing next to his bed and whispering:
"If you're tired of fighting, and you wanna let go, it's OK"
WOW! Hit me like a stampede! That's a powerful phrase, no matter the context. So that begins the first song.
SONG #2
A simple, single-notes kind of song that has lyrics. Chris, you're crazy - lyrics? What a bad ass! Yeah, so I've been trying to figure that stuff out this evening. And now I'm close to sleep. My eyes are dropping every third word. So good night, et bonne nuit.
